Sophie Ellis-Bextor reunites with regular collaborator Sophie Muller for Hypnotized - and they are back on that dancefloor.
Leading a group of dancers in a hypnotic haze, we see Ellis-Bextor perform under coruscating lights, with featured artist (and producer) Wuh Oh up on the decks. It has all the trademarks of a Sophie Muller video - strong performance, bright spotlights, a naturalistic colour palette, and melodrama - with an added disco flair - and an edit that expertly builds the emotion around a strong, simple concept. Esteemed cinematographer Robbie Ryan brings his talents to this one too.
The ending, as the dancers grow into an army behind Sophie E-B, is a spectacular display of understated choreography.
