Mystery, mayhem and Murder.... Wednesday is written and directed by Tim Burton and lensed by DoP David Lanzenberg. Wednesday stars YOU actress Jenna Ortega in the title role, while Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán play Wednesday's famous parents, Gomez and Morticia Addams. The eight-part comedy-drama series will show the iconic character Wednesday from The Addams Family in a whole new light.
While in school, the teen will embrace her “sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting” abilities for a new adventure, according to Netflix’s description of the series. “That’s where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships.”
An official release date for Wednesday has yet to be unveiled, though the trailer dropped on Aug. 17 notes that the show will premiere in 2022. Fans are eagerly awaiting this unsettling icon to wield her mighty axe of destruction on Netflix.
